For CAS404, Kelli Jo is our new hostess and she has asked us to be inspired by Salvador Dali. I'm not a fan of Dali's surrealism, but my research led me to wikiart.org (a website that I expect to use for inspiration in the future) where I learned that Dali really started out as an impressionist and then kind of morphed into the surrealism. I found this work: https://www.wikiart.org/en/salvador-...ria-pilgrimage
and I just loved the orange sky. A nice golden orange is just my favorite color and the deep, dark blues just complemented the orange sky so well. I decided that the way to use this inspiration piece and keep my card CAS was to layer some fun colored/patterned DP. I found a Sizzix die that sort of mimicked the shape of the church to make the sentiment balloon and then I had to add the clock brad because we all know Dali = clocks, right.
My ex-sister-in-law is an art teacher and a Dali fan. This card will be perfect to send to her!

Terrific birthday card Jen and great use of some designer paper scraps. Love your interpretation of his Romeria Pilgrimage and I'm sure your XSIL will appreciate the personal touch

Those torn patterned papers make a great interpertation of your chosen inspiration piece. (especially the more surreal bottom piece.) I had to smile at the clock - as I spent some time trying to figure how to make a melted watchface . . . (Maybe shrink art gone bad LOL

Love this one from Dali, thanks for linking to it. Surprising how different his range was, I'm loving this challenge and what everyone is finding today. Your color interpretation from this piece is spot on, you've really captured the feel of the original work with your beautiful card.
