This card is for today's Free For All Challenge and yesterday's Ways to Use It Challenge. My favorite ways of relaxing are making cards and reading. I used to like to walk, but my arthritic knees have made that impossible currently. I have even had to stop working because my job is mostly standing. But I digress. I needed a birthday card for my DH, so this is a bit more about how he relaxes. He spent his career inside at a desk and he always loved puttering outside when he got home. Now that he is retired he still spends most of his time puttering around the yards, here and at his kids houses. At least twice a week, he goes over to our daughters and walks her dog while she is at work. He has a very special relationship with Gemma (the dog). So I made a pop up book card for him. Generally, I do not like to do cards that require measuring and special cutting, but this kind of card is doable even for me.

Oh, oh - it's a pop-up book card! I do love those, though for some reason I find the A2 ones just come together for me much better than the square ones. Weird, I know, as at least half my cards are square anyway! I love the muted tones, perfect for a guy card. And what a cute little puppy - so long as he hasn't been chewing the laces. It's great to see the eyelets, too!

I know. Got a cortisone shot in my right knee on Wednesday. No walking for me for a while. Torn miniscus. The inside of your card is wonderful as well........love the soft colors!!

Great birthday card for your DH and wonderful image and pop up card. I love making cards and reading too but never seem to have enough time for either. Great job incorporating both in your card and the two challenges.

What a wonderful card for your DH. Thanks for sharing your story Kathy, I think one of my favourite things about SCS is that we get a glimpse of each other's lives. I digress, I love the fold you have used and the great colours and image. Happy weekend.
