Sorry I am a bit late to the party. This card was made especially for my neighbours daughter...yes you read correctly LOL.
Our beautiful neighbour is moving to an aged care home next week. She is as fit as a fiddle, walks for 30 minutes every morning AND afternoon, plays mahjong, scrabble, bridge (that's what the old dears call poker). She is the welfare officer at her church - she rings the oldies each today to make sure they are ok. She knits baby boots and scarves for charity and raises funds for a young mums group. My DH says she bakes the best scones in Australia.
Mrs Shears is almost 99, her daughter is turning 80 and she is finding the 4 hour round trip on a bus to visit her mum each week is getting a bit too much.
I wish everyone could have a Mrs Shears in their life. Thank you for looking at my card and letting me share this story.

Oh Susie I bet Mrs Shears has some wonderful stories at 99. What a spectacular card you made for her. I am sure she will love the colors and design of this beauty. 99 and still walking 30 minutes every day oh I sure hope I can keep up with that myself at 99. Beautifully done for such a sweet lady.

What a woman! I'm so pleased you shared the wonderful story with us - my little village has 2 93 yr olds - one paints and has exhibitions and the other has just written her autobiography of her life as pilot trainer in the war. She taught the pilots how navigate in the dark ... you need to read the book to understand how she did it! Your card is a looker .. I can't stop looking ... gorgeous design and fabulous green focal colour.

What a great story - if only we could all be like that. I know health issues are a reality for some, but staying young inside makes a huge difference too. At the funeral I was at yesterday, I met someone I certainly wouldn't have recognised since I last saw her as a very young teen at sumnmer camp oh, thirty years, but she said she feels just as young inside as she did back then.
And - you made a gorgeous card, I bet they both love it. It has such a happy summery feel to it - and that amazing green bird reminds me of the budgies I was given after the cat ate my canary.
