For Ky's Poppies for Vets mixed media challenge.
My mediums are acrylic modelling paste, acrylic srpay mists and metallic luster rub-ons from Craft-T.
I wanted to go fairly simple and quick - it was only 50F in my attic this morning before work, so I found a piece of already stencilled card in my box. I didn't want to leave it just white, so with a homemade stencil I rubbed some blue metallic luster in - and then I thought I'd made a horrible mess. So I spritzed the whole thing with spray mists from Brusho and went to work with yellow and green fingers.
Came home and decided to add the butterfly, stamped on vellum, and some tiny little flecks of gold Stickles around the poppy flowers. Thinking of the origins of the day and remembering those who sacrificed their lives prompted me to add a sober touch by ayering this onto black panel, which I then added to a white base, and finished it with a die-cut sentiment. I know I need to trim a tiny bit of black off at the top, but it's one of those days I'm so tired I can barely see, so I'm leaving that job for later. Thanks for a fun challenge, Ky.

I love your paste bg! What a great pattern and your poppies are perfect! I wonder if your rub on metallics are the same as mine? Really cool what ever they are!

Beautiful card, Sabrina. I never thought of using that Fair Isle stencil in this way,but it is so striking and makes such a lovely bg for your poppies.
