I cut a mask with my circle die, and adhered it in the middle of my card front. I stamped the crystals around that, letting some hang off the card edges & go "behind" the masked area. I white heat embossed them, and shaded/highlighted them with a white colored pencil. I added some Brushed Corduroy ink around the edges of the card front & the perimeter of my circle mask, to mimic the "shading" you can get on gingerbread cookies. I also went around the circle with a white gel pen for faux stitching lines. I removed the mask, stamped my greeting in the center, and white heat embossed it as well. I felt the greeting area needed just a little something more, but didn't want to go too far. So I consulted my mom, who agreed. Between the two of us, we came up with the idea to do some white pencil shading around the greeting as well. I did test it out on a scrap piece of kraft, just to make sure I knew what I was doing & wouldn't ruin my card! But I liked the way it turned out.

Oh my goodness, this is gorgeous! I pinned it to our hostess favorites board. LOVE the white shading - it adds so much dimension, and this monochrome card style is perfect for the effect. Thank you for playing along with my Falliday Fest challenge!

This is amazing! I love how you added that last minute touch of shadow/shine to the circle. It gives it such a 3D effect. You did such an awesome job at creating so much depth in a one layer card!
