I was searching God Jul on Pinterest today. A lot of vintage Scandinavian cards came up, and one of them inspired me to create this card. It is out of my comfort zone, since it includes coloring with markers, but I desided to be brave and try. LOL.
The Norwegian Santa, or Nisse in Norwegian, is very different from the US version. He is short and lives in a barn or in the woods. He does hot give presents and can be quite mischievous. The Nisse who lives in the barn, looks after the farm animals. If he does not get a large bowl of rice porridge on Christmas Eve, he can get quite angry and play tricks on the farmer or the farm animals.
My Nisse lives in the woods, looking after the animals there. He is making sure the little rabbit is warm and has food.
The beard, fur and snow is created with a Snow Writer. I used stickles for stars and shadow in the snow.
Thanks for looking.

Oh gosh, I love the way he is behind the tree, it adds such depth to the scene. I wouldn't have thought of layering dies in front of a stamped image like that. And the little bunny in the snow is sweet.

This is a beautiful CAS card with little Nisse taking care of the rabbit. I enjoyed reading your narrative on the Norwegian version of "Santa". Thank you. You did a beautiful job of coloring your image with markers.

First, thanks for the story of the Norwegian Santa. Your card is very festive with the santa and bunny. The coloring is wonderful, and the way you put the tree die in front is super. The grounding of the images with the touch of sparkle looks great. Fav'd TFS
