I made this card for the Double O Alphabet challenge to make a one-layer card with the letter O (for Ocean). I have a confession to make, after more than 23 years of stamping, this is my very first one-layer card. Yep! I love texture and dimension and I have never been able to get my brain to make a one-layer card - until today. The reason for participating in challenges is to be challenged- and this was a doozey for me. Ugh! I know this is not an original design by any means, but it is a HUGE accomplishment for me so for that reason, I am tickled to say, "I did it!" I will be giving this card to a friend who is going through a rough time so she knows I am thinking of her and that I care.

Being it's Sunday I'm looking at it from afar and a small point of view. And like from oceans away. But it looks so beautiful and the blues look so refreshingly relaxing and like a calm before a storm. I am sure your friend will definitely love it. Great job. Looks like great minds think alike. I used this stamp set as well on my O card? I just don't have the capability to post to the alpha thread. Till someone does it for me.:(

Wow Karen, this is beautiful. What an amazing job of sponging! I love the clouds in the sky and the depth of the blue in the ocean, that gets lighter closer to shore and those birds are beautiful. You even added some seagrass. This one layer card is an amazing first!

If you saw my FIRST cards, they were all one layer and VERY SIMPLE and I thought they were great! Many years later and mine are still on the more simple, few layers, etc, because of the quantity I need each month. Mine all have to be mailed so I keep them THIN!!! - - - You did GREAT on your first single layer card! You might learn to like them! Well done! tfs
