I love wax seal stamps. A couple of days ago I got 4 new ones, but didn't think I would have time to use them any time soon.
My daughter is a high school senior, so my days are spent on the computer, researching universities and scholarships.
Then, today I had a conversation about Christmas and traditions with Sabrina and I just couldn't resist picking up one of the new wax seal stamps and make a card.
The red wax is a little light, so the image is hard to see in the picture, but it is really beautiful in real life.
Thanks for looking.

Oh, but I can see the deer! And this brings back memories of doing seals with old family sealing rings, seeing your card brings back the smell of the hot wax! I like the way it's almost the shape of a tree ornament too, tying in perfectly with the wood and foliage.

This is so interesting - I have not heard of wax seal stamps before, but I will be checking them out now! I love this rustic Christmas card you have made here! Just love it! ~Karen.

Hilde this is so beautiful. I love how the partially stamped woodgrain background ties everything together. I had completely forgotten about wax stamps, I remember sealing love letters a gazillion years ago. Thanks for the happy memories and for sharing your talent.

I can see the deer too! I've always wanted to play with wax seals but have had self control because really, what would I do with it!?! Well, now I know, this is so BEAUTIFUL! I love the rustic but CAS design.
I have always had a soft spot for wax seals. They just feel so regal and timeless. I've had my eye on a few wax seal kits, but have not taken the plunge to buy one yet. But seeing how great the seal looks on your card, I just might do so soon.
Thank you for the inspiration and for sharing your lovely creation!

Oh, Hilde, this is beautiful, and I also see the deer! Like many others above, I remember doing wax seals and still remember the smell of the heated wax. This is so classic and rich, and I love the woodgrain and the wonderful greens! Beautifully done! Hugs! xoxo

Oh how clever!! Love the way you've used the seal to affix the pine boughs!
Years ago I had a wax seal .. I'm betting that went away in a garage sale a few houses ago.
