I am such a sucker for a Cute Elephant! And because I have a special Young Person in my life (31 yrs. old!...that's young to me) who really likes elephants, it is my duty as a Grandma to indulge this special person. I'm thinking I may become the cause of her becoming sick and tired of elephants sometime in the future...hope not. I'm afraid I performed some minor surgery on this baby pachyderm stamp and removed a snail that was perched on his upturned trunk. I like snails, but I Love butterflies. I was also intrigued by the perky alphabet paper I had just picked up this week and thought that might make an interesting bg. I thought about stamping said elephant on a white rectangle and coloring him and letting the lettered bg just be a border. My mind said "No! He needs a little more pizazz...just look at how cute he is." Considered stamping him on solid primary colored CS to go with one of the colors in the bg and fussy cutting him, but he might just blend in too much and kind of disappear. And I am a dyed in the wool (what a strange expression!) fussy-cutting-avoider so that just kind of drifted along in my mind for awhile. Then it seemed to latch on to a spot in my mind and hung on. The clouds began to part and "I saw the light". White might be my solution...and I think it was. I did struggle with the fussy cutting. Too many hinky inward curves. Don't know if "hinky" is a word, but it seemed appropriate at the time. If it is a word, and it's very inappropriate, I apologize. I never said it. Those particular curves really deserved a "Word"!!! After a few arthritic screams I finished the fussy cutting, applied various sized chunks of foam tape on the underside of the delightful pachyderm, stuck him solidly to the card and glued the delicate butterfly to his trunk (I bet it tickles). I love that his cuteness really stands out now.
Have a Fantabulous week and thanks for reading this all the way to the end.

Ahhhhh Miss Ellen, I never want your stories to end......except of course to have a lovely long look at your work. This is fabulous my friend, your elephant looks terrific - his trunk is up which means he is happy, but I doubt the butterfly will be happy if the elephant sneezes! The background paper is a fun contrast. Your fussy cutting is great!! Big hugs and have a happy week. xx

Dear Eager Beaver...I get mixed up on how to reply to posts...the easiest way I know is to go to the person's gallery and make a comment. Thanks so much for your kind words on my post on the 22nd! I have been kind of bummed out lately and your pep talk and encouraging remarks were very much appreciated! You have a lovely gallery...I'm sure your enchanting cards delight their recipients as will this cute elephant! Thanks for sharing and God Bless!

PS! Looking back over your gallery I spied the card you made on Oct 5, 2015 entitled Birds, birds, birds. About a month ago I found this same beautiful paper in a close out section or something...anyway I was able to order the last 20 sheets on the planet, I think! As usual, after I go bonkers like that, I think to myself, what will I do with that? Now I know...I just have to see if I can find where I put my little bird dies. Very awesome idea! Thanks again!

This is so bright and cheerful, Ellen. The adorable white elephant against that colorful, fun dp is so eye catching. The little butterfly on his nose is adorable.I would never guess that fussy cutting was not your expertese.
