Sorry I am a bit late to Carla's terrific sniff n' smell challenge. There are smells on my original card that will outlast time.
Unfortunately I did not read Miss Carla's instructions properly and completely skipped over the bit about not using sugary ingredients as they might burn.
Let me just say that it was a good thing I was making this on my kitchen bench and in easy reach of a kettle full of water!!!
Initially this was an A4 sheet of cardstock, but after trimming off all the burnt stuff, this was the only bit that survived...it is also the only bit that didn't have icing sugar on it LOL.
The card still smells nice as the embossing powder/texture paste mixture has baby powder in it. DH is currently away at the floods so hopefully by the time he returns there will be no evidence of my little mishap....one can only hope.
Thank you for looking ladies.

Susie, I'm laughing with you not at you, I promise! I can imagine what your kitchen smelled like and I'm so glad there was no lasting damage. Your card is marvelous, of course. The white clock faces and greeting are quite striking over your bg. Love your card, mate! Thanks for getting smelly with me and playing in my challenge.

Oh Susie, it feels like along time since you have described a disaster to us...and I was just thinking of you s few minutes ago as my knife got stuck in a watermelon. Whatever your adventures along the way, the finished result looks fab. I love the gloss and sparkle I see in the purple. Pink icing sugar???? I don't think I've ever seen that. But then, I'm equally sure I've never seen sugar-free drink mixes here like the sachets Carla sent me to play with.

Oh goodness Susie I hope your kitchen was cleared up by the time DH got home. The first time I tried it I used my heat tool too long and nearly singed the image to a crisp so I had to start over as well. I bet this smells amazing! Great image you have on your card too. I am so glad to hear that parts were left over enough so you could complete your card. It turned out super cute!

Your background is amazing! Not sure how you did this but got such a laugh from our descripton! Love how this turned out and adding baby powder was brilliant! This is fabulous, Susie! Love the use of the gears!

Another gorgeous Susie card, complete with a wonderful description. Your bg is so pretty. I love the way the white looks against the purple. I hope you can "hide" the smell before DH comes home. When my kids were small and DH was gone overnight, i bought 50 pounds of sand. Even though he said it wouldn't work, I was sure I could build a sand box in the yard for the boys. He was right. I spent the entire day trying to blend the sand into the dirt in the yard. He noticed the second he got home.

Susie, I've said it before, I want to craft with you!!! Although I would love to learn from you, I think I'm more interested now in witnessing your mishaps! What's amazing is that in spite of nearly burning down your kitchen, you were able to still salvage enough to make yet another beautiful card!!!

I LOVE your card, Susie!!!!! I'm unusually attracted to clock faces and this has it's own definite pull. (My DH thinks I never look at a clock.) Such a Gorgeous bg!!! The dimension you've given this is a Marvelous contrast and I love the colors! I would love to be able to get a whiff.
Geoff leaves you home alone, does he? He has no idea, does he? I'll keep him in my prayers.......you too, of course. Especially you! Although I'm deeply impressed with all your creativeness, I know how things can unexpectedly take off in all directions and there a person can sit...with a whole bunch of problems with possibly unknown solutions. Love you! Take care of yourself. (Sorry, the "mother" in me is sneaking out again.)
