Polly's challenge today sings to me....using black and white photographs to inspire our creations. Love black and white photos....the light values give it a soft look. I started by doing a hobby from years gone by...one stroke painting. My new love is calligraphy. Taking the two to combine my card. Painted the flowers with white and grey, and then adding details with the white ink. Thanks for looking.

Linda, No one does black and white painting quite like you do! Just WOW! Combined with your gorgeous calligraphy, I hope whoever receives this frames it! Having tried calligraphy, I never was consistent enough to use it directly on a card. This is fabulous, Linda!

Phenomenal !! You are SO talented - I love to watch the "one-stroke" painting shows on PBS and am in awe of people like you who can bring this medium to life.

Bestill my heart- this card is GORGEOUS! STUNNING! AMAZING! I could go on and on... You truly have mastered one-stroke painting because your flowers and leaves look real enough to touch. You have achieved curves where flower petals and leaves curve and you know exactly where to add the shadows to add just the right depth. The calligraphy sentiment is so elegant and goes with this scene perfectly! This is fantastic, and I agree completely with Nancy, I hope whomever receives this beautiful card frames it! I am putting this into my favs! ~Karen.

Oh my goodness this is so incredibly stunning Linda. I saved it to my "Drop Dead Gorgeous" Pinterest board the minute I saw it.....that's rather fitting considering it is a sympathy card. I digress, I love your black, white and pencil cards and your calligraphy is beautiful too.
