Made this "Send a Smile" card for this week's CAS challenge (Diagonals).
Stamped white panel with MFT diagonal BG stamp in Versamark. Clear embossed.
Stamped Altenew sentiment on small red scrap with Hero Arts white pigment ink and white embossed. Layered to black layer using scrap from my stash.
Tried a few little different things with the panda and they worked out nicely. First I used my MISTI to stamp the bear with Memento dye ink. Hard to see in the pic, but some of the envelopes have hearts on them. I colored them in with red Copic marker. I also added some C1 around the edges of some envelopes for shadows. After I finished with my Copics, I re-stamped the image in black Versafine. This allowed me to get a really rich looking black, without risking it smearing when I colored the little hearts. And, with the MISTI, no worries that things wouldn't line up for me.
Die cut the stamped image, along with a second cut from white scrap. Layered using glossy accents.
For my second trick, I used some little envelope die cuts that had been left over from a prior card. They fit perfectly under my bear's head and his raised foot. This allowed everything to remain level when I attached the bear to the end of my sentiment banner. (Really, now, would a neat stamper be able to do this? I mean, you'd not only have to keep the little envelope die cuts in the first place and then you'd have to remember you had them neatly tucked away somewhere. Me? I just had to look at the floor by the die cut machine where I had yet to pick them up. Long live the messy stamper! LOL!)
Finished off my panda with glossy accents at the eyes and nose, and Wink of Stella on the envelope hearts and all the black parts of the bear.
TFL!

Yes, long live the messy stamper - but not at my house. Our cat loves to get into scraps and if they make any kind of sound, she's likes to eat them. You consistently come up with the best CAS designs.

Oh, Debbie, I LOVE your CAS designs and cards, and this panda is adorable! I love the diagonal striped BG that I just got myself recently. Love it embossed too. And how adorable is this panda with the envies with hearts on them. Yes, the MISTI is our friend - for sure! And, what fun to think you found the "gems" for finishing your card on the floor - haha! I just cleaned my floor and found some stuff and was glad to have it clean - for a while! Hehe! Beautifully done, as always, my friend! Your cards are fabulous! Hugs! xoxo
