Mary is our hostess in the Color Challenge this week. She is ecouraging us to embrace autumn, but I am emphatically not ready! I'm going to love every bit of this summer until it's gone! Card-wise, though, I gotta have dessert!
Our colors this week are Chocolate Chip, Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry and Garden Green. The dessert option is "fall." I have so much DS paper around here, I was delighted to find a pack that fits this color challenge. I used a design from Linda Heller's Stamping School for the sketch for this card. For the center, I stamped "miss you" with Cajun Craze ink on Crushed Curry cardstock. Using the MISTI, I stamped it three times, cleaned off the stamp, and then overstamped with VersaMark ink and heat embossed with clear powder.
This card is going to my nephew, who has been going through some difficult times recently. I wanted my card to remain masculine and mostly flat for mailing.
Thanks for stopping by, and please play along with us this week.

Barbara, this is just gorgeous with all the pretty pp! And what a great use for it! You accomplished your goal of a lovely card that could work for a guy or a gal!

Okay, what Karen said. It's a traditional quilt block called "bright hopes", which is appropriate for a someone with hard times. I think. Awesome card! tfs
