Made for Sunday Stamps Sketch Challenge #134: http://sundaystamps.blogspot.com/ where the sketch was to use banners in the upper left quadrant of the card.
I wanted to have stamped images on my banners, so thought right away of using my 2002 SU Mini Mates stamps that have tiny images with matching sayings. I decided to capture the key moments in your life: meeting your soulmate, getting married, and having children. So the three images seemed to fit.
The sentiment 'Cherish the Moments" is from 'Baby Prints' and seemed to go with the card's theme perfectly. I can use this card to congratulate a couple on their new baby... I was thinking of a boy at the time I made this card, but it could be easily made using pinks for a girl.
The one trick I used for the banners (which are ALWAYS hard to line up!) was to score each banner, then after folding it, attache a single glue dot to the BACK of the folded flap to allow me to attach each banner to the front panel exactly where I wanted each banner to go. THEN I ran the baker's twine through the line of banners and attached to the back with double stick tape. The final step was to add a little liquid glue to the back at the top and middle of each banner and press down until they were attached. This was a SUPER easy way to align and space the banners, rather than the old way I've done it before when I tried to hang the banners on the string, and then attach to the card. MUCH EASIER!!!
