Prior to making any card for this occasion, I remembered Covington Crafter asking me if I had ever made a shaker card. After my first card didn't meet my criteria (it was too monochromatic), I decided to try my hand at a shaker card.
My card was almost complete but I needed some shaker material. Our days are filled with running errands. As luck would have it, our travels took me to a nearby Michael's.
Upon making our way home, I had an epiphany. It was then that I knew why I had made this shaker card:
During my youth when we would visit my grandmother, it became a habit for me to check her glass hutches to see what new salt and pepper shakers my uncles had brought her. Grandma had eleven children. Most of her four sons drove OTR.
I never tired of checking for new shakers. Now she lives in assisted living and the shakers are but a memory. A delightful one at that!

What a fabulous shaker card Roberta. Thanks so much for sharing your story, I always love it when a card has a special meaning or evokes beautiful memories. Our love of cards is sooooo much more than paper hey.
