Barbara has chosen Old Olive, Daffodil Delight, and Mossy Meadow for the color challenge this week. I don't have Daffodil Delight nor Mossy Meadow so I subbed Yo-Yo Yellow and Always Artichoke, which seem pretty close.
This was inspired by Birgit and so many of you in SCS land that watercolor, this is as close to watercoloring success as I will have, by using stamps, of course. These trees from (I keep calling it Winter Wonderland) Wonderland are my absolute favorite to use for all watercolor techniques.
I used some reinkers to create a background color wash. Then, I used my MISTI to stamp the trees repeatedly in different positions on the paper. After inking the stamp, I misted with water before applying to the paper. The differing landscape hues came from the reinker colors, and I just love the bg effect it created.I sponged yo-yo yellow at the top edge and stamped the sentiment and the birds. Matted on Old Olive.
