Sketched some dunes, sea, and sky for Julie's challenge then used my new watercolor paints. I am just beginning sketching and watercolor, took a beginner's class at the local Rec Center and stocked up on some books from the library to practice from.

Oh my! This is fabulous, Joanne! I love your sand dunes and water in between. A really lovely scene. I don't know if the Long Branch, NJ is considered the Jersey shore, but it had a boardwalk & a beach. We were there for a few months when my hubs was stationed at Ft. Monmouth.

There is so much I like about this card. Please take this as a compliment when I say that it reminds me of an illustration in a children's book. So vibrant, so much texture, really draws you in. This is a picture that you stop and study and that's what good illustrators do. They make you want to read the words on the page. Well done.
