The technique is demonstrated by Kim Dellow if you are interested in checking it out, and here is a sample of another card I made with this technique.
Using the technique (which is basically spreading paint around on your cs with an old hard plastic credit card or gift card), I created the bg and then stamped the sentiment with my MISTI (this allows me to stamp it several times to get solid inking, and a word of caution: it does take more than the usual amount of time to dry). Die cut my lovely trees, matted, and assembled with dimensionals to give it dimension.

Awesome card Maura! I tried that technique on my Friday cards and I love it! Will definitely do it again...thanks for sharing that with us. I like the idea of using black shilouettes with your bg..it works well for a sympathy card.

looks fabulous mf...love that technique and want to play with it some more when I get more time. The black die cut is just perfect for the bkg.
Five little ones are keeping my hopping these days so no time...I am having a few crafting withdrawal symptoms...lol
hugs,
Karen

Wowza what a great technique and an amazing BG you created. I am so going to have to try it. Your card turned out beautifully from your inspiration. Thank you for the link to the super cute technique.
