Card made for 52 (Christmas) Card Throwdown theme challenge that required making a card inspired by "The 12 Days of Christmas": http://52cct.blogspot.co.uk/
I tried several different mirror techniques before picking the use of the back of a photopolymer stamp to stamp the geese I wanted to be facing the other way. I used the back of the largest blossom from the "Flower Patch" photopolymer stamp that was mounted on a separate acrylic block and then stamped the geese facing left with this second generation inked image.
The nests were from the SU "Soft as a Feather" wood mounted set. I used Post-It notes to mask half of the round nest, plus a 1/2" circle punched out of another Post-It to create a horizontal nest with a "hole" in the center for the geese to sit.
To make the nests seem to be "behind" the geese sitting in nests in front of then, I stamped a goose and nest on scrap cardstock and cut it out to use as a mask to prevent the nests from stamping over the top of the foreground goose heads.
I trimmed around the cluster of six geese and then mounted them using Stampin' Dimensionals onto the Pistachio cardstock.
This card required a bit more fussy work than I usually do, but to achieve the six geese theme, it seemed the only way I could pull it off. Enjoy!
