Today's Clean & Simple Challenge, CAS384 - Cool Treats - 7/4/2016, was to make a project with some kind of cool summer treat on it.
I LOVE timely challenges!!! It just so happened that I needed to make a fun thank you card/gift for my sweet next door neighbor who watered my flowers while we were away from home. When I saw cool treat as the theme for the challenge, it served as an inspiration for this pocket card thank you.
Pocket cards are my go-to design when I have a gift certificate that I am wanting to include with a card - here it was a GC for a local frozen yogurt shop. The pocket makes for a fun presentation as well as providing a way for the recipient to store the gift certificate until they are ready to use it.
I will admit that I was in a bit of a hurry to get this done so it could be hand- delivered ASAP, so I dug deep to my leftovers stash and discovered a sack of ice cream circles and waffle cone bottoms already punched, cut and edges sponged. All that was left to do was add some stickles swirls and assemble the cone on the pretty plaid label that I added to the front of the white paper pocket.
I stuck to a quick, simple design for the card that slipped into the paper pocket. The pink top-fold card has a dry embossed panel with thank you words on it. It's hard to see in the photo, but I added stickles to all of the words on embossed panel to give it a little sparkle.
The gift certificate for the yogurt treats is on the inside of the top flap of the card. I made a slip- pocket out of leftover plaid DP, and added a die-cut "thanks" done in white....and blinged it up with more stickles.
It was so fun to play along in the CAS384 - Cool Treats Challenge. I got to play in my stamp room, after having been away for awhile and also ended up with a fun "thank you" for my dear neighbor. It's already been delivered and exclaimed over! So fun to see the smiles that can come from a bit of colored paper - and stickles!!!
Thanks for dropping by and looking at my Triple Scoop special. Wouldn't someone you know LOVE to get a card from you? Why not make a Cool Treat card and send a smile to that special person...come play with us in this challenge!
