Hi Everyone! Thanks Audrie for another great Pinterest board - who knew there were so may ways to decorate a table and so many ways to use napkins. The inspiration on this site is never ending, and so many card ideas came to mind!! It was this 'table scape' that captured my attention - the colors are just so vibrant and the table design so gorgeous: Summer Table Ideas
To make my card I started by die-cutting the butterfly out of watercolor paper, then lightly soaking it with water. Next I watercolored it using daffodil and mambo first, and then when that was nearly dry going back with some of the green. Next I added some daffodil to the background panel and used my MISTI to repeat stamp the sentiment and corners on the watercolor cardstock. I wanted it to be bold!
It was at this point that I decided to bring in the black - so I diecut another butterfly in black, offset just slightly behind the other butterfly. and then with with a black cardbase as a matting around the background panel - I really wanted this to Pop and the black did the trick. Last steps were mounting the butterfly layers over gold thread and adding the sequins and gems.
Thanks for looking and thanks again Audrie for a great challenge!!
Hugs,
Audrey

Butterflies are such unique creatures, but I think it's safe to say that this one is in a class all by itself! Gosh, I don't think this could be any brighter or any more fun, even if you tried, Audrey! Love the texture on the wc paper and the black behind the colored image gave very dramatic results!

WOW putting that black butterfly under your WC one really gives it depth and interest. Love the summery colors and the framing using those corner flourishes and the sentiment...this is a real winner Audrey!
