This is the top of the box that I was asked by a friend to create as a gift.
I started by tracing the box on a piece of aluminum (thanks, Nancy!) and cutting the pieces for the top and all four sides. I adhered them temporarily to a large piece of scrap paper and taped that to my work surface so it wouldn't move around. That made it so much easier to apply the alcohol ink and get fairly even color and coverage across all five pieces.
The letters were cut on my Cricut out of watercolor paper three times and stacked for dimension. They were adhered with art glitter adhesive and given time to dry thoroughly.
The top piece was embossed with the Darice ef three times, starting in the center and then embossing either end. I applied platinum acrylic paint over the piece with a paint brush and wiped most of it back off with a soft paper towel. I added a deep gray acrylic paint with a brayer and wiped it off, as well.
It was attached to the box with Sookwang tape and the letters impressed into the metal using a small rubber eraser to start with and progressively smaller styluses to finish.
I used a Spectrum Noir blender pen to remove the color from some of the embossed pattern and added glitter dots to some of the flower centers.

Amazing, that's what this project for Lindsey is, Jody. I don't have the skills or the patience to work on anything like this. Wonderful finished product.

WOW! The patina just got me! You managed to give it a feminine touch and yet manage that vintage look! Now I'm off to see the other views. No notification tonight. Will resubscribe again!
