Today's ways to use it challenge from Carla is something I love to do....turn trash into art. I am always on the hunt for rusty bits when I'm out walking my dog. I came across this cool bottle cap with the slit and pinched off the dead orchid from my birthday gift from 2nd DS. I was experimenting with manilla tags the other day [url=http://gailepark.blogspot.com/2016/06/thrilla-from-manilla.html (blog post here)[/url] so had the tag already prepped with stenciled modeling paste dried then sprayed with ink and spritzed with water. The lattice was in my leftover pile and I just snipped it in half. I had made another tag base with an inspirational book page so I chose another piece and tore it to add. I've got a dishwasher on the fritz with a repairman coming so I have a kitchen to clean which was my first aim post walk but just had to throw this together first. All that to say that I kept it pretty CAS. I may be back later with a 2nd take on this as I have the old Gaither hymn, Something Beautiful ringing in my mind and heart. Thanks for a great first challenge Carla.

Very cool tag with those vibrant sprayed colors and the wonderful texture. Your bottle cap and the dried orchid look awesome - I would keep this little work of art right on that tiny easel and find a corner in my home to display it!

I was only aiming to take a quick peek at the gallery and leave commenting till tomorrow when I will have the computer... and it appears that the coach I am on doesn't have WiFi, so I guess I won't actually be looking much at the gallery either. But I'm glad I got to see this with the beautiful vibrant colours and brilliant 'trash' find; that bottle cap looks just great. Even more, thanks for the reminder of that song.

Gail, you are rockin Trash to Treasure! I love all the interesting elements in your tag. And I really love that you picked up the bottle cap while walking your dog. Hope your dishwasher is fixed quickly and look forward to seeing another card from you! Thanks for playing in my challenge.
