This is my sample card for CC586. Vicki is our hostess and she chose garden green, pool party and marina mist for her color trio. Dessert is to make it FatherÂ’s Day.
Good for me since I have a few to make yet. This one is for my hubby and he is my “Clark Kent” aka superman.
My Clark Kent sentiment and glasses are from MFT. I bought them a few months ago and am finally getting around to using them. I die cut the glasses in black card stock 3x and adhered together. I used some glossy accents on top to give them the look of plastic frames.
Also used the MFT Blueprints 18 dies for the other elements on my card. The background dp is from BoBunny –“Santorini Stripe”. Love how it matches the Stampin’-Up marina mist cardstock
I added some candy dots to complete my card. I made the dots from Perler beads and melted them in the oven. I saw a little tutorial on Julia aka artystamper’s blog. They melt in the oven at 325° into this round shape and there is no smell.
Hope you can play along with us this week. Check out the other DT samples for more inspiration.

Yikes, those glasses are so fun, Mary. I read your narrative and quickly recognized some very important elements from 'the past.' This is such a creative card and so much fun for DH.

Fabulous card for your husband - he is sure to love it! I like the pin stripes in the background and the slanted design, and, of course, the glasses. Great Father's Day card!

Oh, Mary, you knocked the dessert right out of the park (mixed metaphors, anyone?) with this adorable card for your hero! Love it! Thanks for the info about melting beads. I had heard pony beads smell bad when melted; it's great to know about the Perler beads. On my errand list for this week!
