Vicki is our hostess this week, and she has given us the lovely color combination of Garden Green, Pool Party and Marina Mist. The dessert option is Father's Day, but I'm skipping dessert this week.
This card is a perfect example of not knowing when to stop. Seriously.
I started out by tapping the flower stamp in Pool Party ink. Then I ran around the outside of each flower with my Marina Mist marker before stamping. Finished the stamping, cut out the rounded squares, fooled with colors to get layers I liked, and it was all good.
But see, I had this Marina Mist ribbon, and felt an obligation to use it. After I made my ribbon frame, still not knowing when to quit, I stuck some candy dots in the centers of the flowers. But you're supposed to use odd numbers—more pleasing to the eye or something—so I had to add a green one at the base of the stem. No idea what it represents! And then, of course, some trendy sequins—three—an odd number, y'know.
I should have quit before the ribbon and would have had a nice CAS card. Live and Learn!
Thanks for stopping by, and please play along with us this week!

I totally understand Barbara - sometimes I think I need a voice in my ear saying in a very low and authoritative voice, " Step away from the card, ma'm."!
Even though it may not be CAS, its a lovely card, Barbara!! The ribbon adds a lot of interest.

So pretty Joyce. Love how you blended those colors so well and used the darker color for your shadow. Love those stitched dies too. Such a pretty card.

Oh, trust me, I know what you're talking about. But actually everything seems to work very well together and those flowers are lovely, as is the ribbon border. We are always our own worst critics and I think this turned out much better than you're giving yourself credit for!

I really like how this turned out Barbara-and the ribbon border makes a great frame-I do the same thing when making a card-but I don't think you have overdone it at all- love your creativity
