I have relatively few embossing folders, and none with a lot of open space. I also don't have any of Tim Holtz Reflections stamps. So I improvised with this tag for Day 3 at Creative Chemistry 101. One great trick I've learned so far is that swiping a stamp on the ink pad, rather than tapping as I normally would, gives essentially a 2nd generation or lighter image. So I swiped a small portion of the Tim Holtz text stamp and stamped it between the leafy borders I had embossed. Then I stamped the 2 trees in the traditional manner with the Jet black. Allows for some layering with the same color ink. Then I went in with 3 shades of green to ink up the tag. I hit the embossed areas and the edge just lightly with a little Gathered twig just to darken it up a bit more.
This is technically a week 2 technique, but I'm still entering it in the Week 1 Challenge to create a project with 4 colors of Distress. I'm also entering into the SSS Monday Challenge - monochrome.
