Our MIX173 challenge today is use a frame - well that was right down my alley because I love to frame my main focal image! This time I framed it with a simple die cut rectangle that is popped up with dimensionals. Simple, but I love the look.
The flower stamp was stamped with distress stains, and then using a wet paintbrush I moved the paint around till I liked the look (sometimes I may add a bit to get some contrast). After giving it a bg, I splattered with diluted inks of the same colors, along with diluted white acrylic paint - a favorite technique of mine. Oh, I added the stamen with black paint to get more definition.
Mediums are ink, distress stains, white acrylic paint

I love the look of this too, Maura. I don't know anything about stains, but I'm seeing a lot of others using this medium, too. So pretty off center and the color is spectacular.

This is beautiful Maura...you make it sound so simple (just move the paint around....I know mine would never turn out this pretty) and I know it's not. I like how you added the white acrylic to this and your popped up frame..simple yet perfect for your card. Thanks for playing along today ;)

Oh, this makes my heart beat a little faster. Wow! What a beauty! This makes me want to watercolor something right now. I love the no line watercoloring.

Maura, your watercolouring is just getting better and better! I love the splatter in the matching colours - it's so festive - looks like coloured sprinkles on a birthday cake! I must try your splatter technique of both coloured ink and diluted white acrylic paint.
