For the bg frame & mountain part of the scene, I used Brusho water color crystals by sprinkling them onto damp water color paper, then blending them out with a wet paintbrush. I added a bit of shimmer by washing over it with some pearlescent water colors.
From the center of the w/c bg, I found the area I wanted for the mountains & die cut a circle around it. By masking, I stamped the bg part of the scene & filled in with more of the trees. I added a woodgrain embossed white front & the cut out train. The envelope ties were also fussy cut and added behind the die cut oval w/ the greeting. The upper left corner element is just a leftover piece of the water color background & a Candi dot.
Thanks so much for looking! Closeups, Copic colors & the w/c bg before cutting are on my blog: The Write Stuff

Amazing! Love the train theme and how the train is emerging from the circle. What a great card for Dad. Great job with the challenge colors for this superb card. TFS

So many great details, Julie! Love the colored paper peeking out from behind your main panel, and how you made the train look like it was coming out of the card!! Awesome.
