I used Lou Kitzelman's design to create my cards. Thanks Lou for your inspiration -- your card is truly beautiful! I made these cards for those wonderfully generous people that donated to the PurpleStride2016 5K Walk/Run for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
This card was a bit harder than I thought it would be. I started by cutting the base 5.5x4.25 in Elegant Eggplant, and then die-cutting the rose piece in that same color. (I did not adhere the die-cut rose piece to the base until after the white stamped rose piece was finished). I then cut a 5.25x4 in Whisper White. On the White cardstock, I stamped the rose stamp. I used my AquaPainter to color in the rose and leaves.
After matting the White cardstock (elegant eggplant), I laid them together, so that I could place the die-cut rose piece in the correct position when the card is closed. I realized that the back of the card would show the edges of the die-cut piece on the back, so I placed another 5.5x4.25 piece of Eggplant cardstock on the back (hiding it).
I finished the white insert part with eggplant ribbon and the 'Thank You' sentiment.
I know....loads of layers on this card. As you can see from my photo.... I attached a white piece of cardstock on the back of the insert too -- for my note of thanks and where I could sign our names.
Hope that all made sense! LOL!
