Karen has chosen our colors this week and she has chosen: blackberry bliss, wisteria wonder, soft sky, pear pizzazz with a dessert of sequins.
I knew I was going to watercolor with my zig watercolor markers so I matched colors as best as I could. For cs, I had no blackberry, so I subbed eggplant.
I colored on the stamp with my watercolor markers, spritzed with water and then stamped onto the watercolor cs. Then I used my wet paintbrush to pull the color around. I had to add a bit more color in a couple of places to give more definition or a bit of shadow. Then I splattered diluted inks of the darker purple, along with diluted white acrylic paint, stamped sentiment and added sequins. For the mat I carefully cut the 2 frames so that the one would show slightly beyond the other, and added with dimensional tape so it would have an authentic “framed look” – I love how it turned out!
