I am in looooove with simple no layers cards! Maybe it's because I'm limited to the time I can spend actually creating cards, or may be I'm just lazy! I want to call this a faux layering card. Please forgive me if this is not a new concept or term. I am not meaning to take credit for something I did not invent. However, just incase it is an original concept (which would be a miracle coming from ME), I want to say just how much fun it is to do. I simply used a "negative" piece of cardstock (this can be cut to any size or shape you desire), then sponged around the edges to create the "frame." Then I simply stamped the focal design over it, added some ribbon, and voila! Beautifully simple card in no time at all. This is one of three.

You just saved me about $30 - and having to buy a retired set - great shapes - as this is the very reason I wanted to buy it - to use with this set, using the rectangle as the background. I've seen other beautiful similar cards - maybe they were yours - on this website using this technique and they are so pretty! I am going to use this for my next party - in May!

i love the simplicity of these cards. and yet. even though they are simple, they are well done and lovely to look at. you don't always have time to do the complex cards when you need one. a set of these would make a great gift. who doesn't need note cards?
