PLEASE READ TO UNDERSTAND MY CARD: Today Toni (ravengirl) hosted the Ways To Use It Challenge, Playing Safe, in recognition of National Playground Safety Week. The challenge is to "break out some of your favorite toy images". Great selection, Toni!
OK, my friends, I can read your minds! What does a quilt have to do with a toy and playing it safe on the playground? Get your evening coffee, sit down, and let me tell you!
When I read the challenge, I started reminiscing about my children as youngsters and how they loved sitting at the table with Mom, putting together puzzles, one of their favorite "toys"! Well, the word, puzzle, was the trigger.
I immediately thought of ODBD's April Release related to quilts. Why? To me, crafting with the ODBD released quilt dies requires putting together a "puzzle", and it takes time, or at least for me. Therefore, the quilt represents the puzzles my children loved. And they were in a safe environment, as they were sitting with me playing with puzzles and not playing on the playground! Of course they had other favorite "toys"!
Hope you understand my thought process! If not, just move on! LOL
Enjoy and thanks for leaving comments!

I get it. Quilts are definitely puzzles, especially to me. (I don't quilt) Your card is fabulous and you chose a very lovely color combo. The papers are beautiful.

Love, love, love your paper quilt creation - and the precious story about your children.
When I saw that this card was for the toy challenge, my first thought was that it reminded me of the dolly quilt a dear aunt made for me when I was a very little girl. It was pink and white and fit perfectly on a wood bed that my uncle made to go with the quilt....not many dolls slept in the bed, but plenty of teddy bears did! Thanks for jiggling that fun memory for me, and thanks for sharing this wonderful creation!

Beautifully designed and pieced together, Bev. And your buttons take me back to how much my sister and I loved taking out my mother's button box and playing with the buttons... we had our favourites, and a few even made it into my own sewing button box. My card-making one is not as interesting ;-). And jigsaw puzzles, yep, still love those too. I have a couple of little bitty patchwork dies from WPlus9 and I know that even those are a puzzle to piece. So I get your take on the challenge.
Plus, I remember making a (very basic) blocked quilt for the four-poster bed my dad made for my teddybear!

Love your quilt card - so pretty. When I started reading I thought you were going to say you laid a quilt down so your kids could be cosy on the floor whilst doing their jigsaws.

Lovely card !
Great color combo and sentiment !
Thanks for the fine memories of quilts and puzzles !
I made a lot of puzzles with my boys.
In fact there is still hanging a 3000 pieces puzzle of the little church of Ramsau, Bayern above my desk.
