This week's Way to Use It Challenge, WT581 Playing Safe (4/28/16), was to feature a toy on your project.
I decided that a bicycle could be considered a toy, mainly because I really wanted to use this fun, springy image that I colored back in 2009 and tossed in my "possibles" box for later use. Yikes, 2009!!! I would say it is definitely later, wouldn't you? 😳
Anyway, imagine my delight when I discovered the colors in my ancient image matched the colors in the new plaid paper pack from Lawn Fawn. Happy dance time in my stamp room! I used a tag shaped die on the plaid dp so that the corner repeated the angle of the plaid - I hand clipped the corners of the top-fold card base after gluing the dp on the front.
It's kind of hard to see, but the tag die cut has embossed stitch lines. I thought it would be fun to repeat the stitching theme around the bike panel, so I used a Memory Box Open Studio Country Stitches die to emboss the edges. This style of emboss-only dies are versatile and an economical way to add the trendy stitched edges to any size of panel with straight edges.
Thanks for popping by...wishing you blue skies and sunshine!

Very sweet card. Gave me an idea how to use the rectangle dies. Aren't they great. Your bicycle reminds me exactly of mine when I was young (many, many years ago). Mine was green.

You are a girl of my own heart. You hoard and store things as long as I do. I absolutely love this perfect little plaid that coordinates so well with your image and the three colors of striped baker's string finishes it off beautifully.

I am so glad you saved this treasure to finish for another day. The paper, twine and bike match so well together, and the cheery sentiment made me smile. Tfs.

Oh yes, Susy, a bicycle!! Perfect! I love your tag-like card and the beautiful papers. The bike is coloring beautifully. It's amazing how things we put away become quite usable in the future!!

This is so sweet, Susy! Great rescue from your box of bits, it certainly doesn't look old. I especially like that your bicycle has a basket on the front, I remember being so proud of mine when I first got one. No recollection at all of what I carried in it, though.
