This card was made for no particular purpose. I just decided I wanted to try to watercolor this gorgeous Power Poppy image and printed it out on lightweight watercolor paper. It had been sitting on my desk for several days, so I didn't worry about the ink smearing. However, I made a hot mess with my decided lack of watercolor skills, and just about tossed it. But that totally goes against the grain (grin), so I decided to print the image on some subtly sparkled vellum I was given (thanks, Nancy!). When I put the vellum over the mess I had made, I was stunned by the transformation, and turned it into this card.
I cut the frame and positioned over the image to decide how I wanted to trim it. After cutting to size, the image was attached to the back of the frame with Simply Defined tape. This piece was added to the front of a 5x7 card base, which was trimmed so that the bottom and left margins were the same. I added a butterfly layered from a piece of matching cs and vellum, and attached a small pearl to the body. The silver self adhesive border lines were added for additional texture.
This fits right in with a tip from the Online Card Class Sheer and Clear on ways to attach vellum. The class focuses on ways to use vellum and acetate in your projects.
As always, thanks for looking!

The way you transformed what almost made it to the trash by using the sparkled vellum really turned this into a super WOW card!! Glad that vellum, those silver borders and the butterfly turned this card into a "keeper"!! Awesome card!

Incredible! And to think you almost trashed it! You always were a master at turning mistakes into masterpieces. Love the soft look of this, the subtle watercoloring and the gorgeous muted frame and card base colors!

Goodness, I would never ever have thought of using vellum to cover up my sophomoric water coloring skills. what a neat idea, Jody. Your card is nothing less than gorgeous. Wow, you are certainly one very talented stamper. My compliments on this gorgeous card.

Your card is GORGEOUS, Jody. Love how you used the vellum to revive your tulips(I doubt that it was REALLY a hot mess.) : ) Everything you create is exceptional.
