I made the background using chalk pastels. Honestly I didnÂ’t expect to get good results with chalk regarding what I was trying to achieve but I was pleasantly surprised when I finished. Totally loved the end look of bg. But then I spoiled it by over doing the feather stamp. (I try to remind myself that one should know when to stop stamping but still got loads to learn..) Still didnÂ’t wanted to discard the lovely bg so tried saving it by covering some part with the sentiment.
The sentiment is stamped in purple ink on blue shaded cs. WasnÂ’t able to capture properly on the photograph. Used a corner punch to make the sentiment piece. Added it over a blue dyed ribbon and attached everything on a black base.

I know I find it very hard, when stamping multiple images on a background, to know when and where to stop - you're not alone! But I think your feathers look lovely.
