My friends, I made this card yesterday, using Sabrina's Paper Casting Technique, TLC582, and the same bird stamp that is on yesterday's Purple Starling card. I have been hesitant to upload the card as my bathroom tissue is so wrinkled (of course, I wet it!), that I didn't like it. I saw so many beautiful cards made with this technique that were not wrinkled! Quite frankly, I thought this card is not about to be worthy of the challenge.
After some soul-searching, I decided that I would go ahead tonight and post it since I took the time to create it, and let the chips fall where they may!
As the chips are falling, I'll share how I made the card. Using the technique, I wet (or soaked) 6-double panel pieces of tissue. I decided yesterday that I would make both cards with the bird stamp. Thus, into the wet tissue it went to create an impression.
When the tissue dried, I used all of the above listed inks to stamp the image. I first stamped the bird only with turquoise but it didn't show well. Therefore, I kept adding different colors of ink to the bird portion of the stamp and re-stamping it, until I decided, enough is enough. Then I inked the remainder of the stamp to color the floral portion of the image.
Then I thought, this tissue paper will not stick together, so I got out a needle and thread and stitched around the square. That was all for naught as it will still separate. Regardless, I die cut the paper flower and leaves, colored them with Copics, and spritzed them with Glimmer Mist. There was an interesting reaction to the mist and alcohol inks together. It started fizzing! At first I thought I had made some champagne! LOL That's all folks!!

I'm glad you went ahead and uploaded, Bev. I do that too... If I've done my best with a challenging challenge, it's all part of the journey even if it's not my best work. In some cases (blowing ink with a straw comes to mind) the challenge element might end up being a little die-cut, but when a stamped image is the focus of the challenge you don't have a lot of choice but to give it centre stage. And why not, with your beautiful bird! I'm impressed with the beautiful effect your repeated stamping has given it. Those of us who trimmed more closely around our images diminished the wrinkled look that way... but I think part of the charm of the larger pieces I have seen in the gallery is that they have such a textile look, as if they were a quilted patchwork piece. Thanks for playing, persevering and uploading!

Bev, Bev, Bev.......we need to talk my friend. What part of this card didn't you think looked fabulous!!!! You need a long holiday with me in Australia to clear your head. I LOVE this. DH and I are away camping in the middle of nowhere so it is doubtful that I can participate in Favs of the Week, but please know it is in My Favs.

It would have almost been criminal had you not uploaded this card, silly woman. OMGoodness, I think it's wonderful, Bev. I am crazy about your sewing around the image. You have great attention to detail and I applaud your willingness to try Sabrina's challenge. you created a spectacular card, Ms. Bev, and don't think otherwise. I don't want to have to come over there and teach you a thing or two about uploading your grand cards. You wouldn't want that to happen to even your least liked friend, trust me.
