After several trials for stamping a deer, a Christmas tree and a snowman, I paper pieced my images and gave up, and used the technique just for the place-mat.

Oh, I'm sorry it didn't work out for you, Niki. I appreciate you trying. Interesting, I noticed Joanne said she had had the same problem when she tried it once. I wonder if there's a difference between papers. At least it makes s lovely mat, with a real fabric look, for your beautiful festive coffee set.

We are much to hard on ourselves. I know cards don't always turn out like I like them, but I am always surprised how much they are enjoyed by others. Art is in the eye of the beholder, and I think this turned out to be a fabulous table doiley with the added dimension that the casting gave it. You are the true artist who saves the day!

I agree with the others- so thankful that you finished this lovely card and used your paper cast as a placemat! It looks as though that was your original intention and no one is the wiser :-)

This is great, what are you complaining about, lol. Your coloring on this is perfect. Mine tried to bleed when I colored it with marker… I love that the "mat" looks like fabric. That holly corner punch is adorable.
