Barbara is our hostess this week and she has chosen: pink pirouette, pool party, mossy meadow with a dessert of animals. I have been taking on online watercolor class (from the fabulous Deepti Malik!!) and knew I wanted to use what I am learning, so I chose watercolors matching the chosen colors. My butterfly is my animal (not your typical animal, I know).
On wc cs I first embossed the flowers and leaves from Bloom with Hope, then watercolored the flowers and bg (I am so happy with the bg - I have wanted to learn how to do this for so long, and I think I'm at least in the ballpark!) Then I splattered the panel with diluted white acrylic paint and the card colors, and a touch of black.
On a separate piece of cs, I watercolored and then embossed the butterfly, punched it out and attached. Main panel is popped up with dimensional tape.
Come and join in the challenge - you may be our next favorite!!

Your bg is just gorgeous, Maura....I need a tutorial on how you did it. Water color has always been something I love but just can't do. This card is so pretty, especially the way you blended the colors. Into my favs.
