Kyra gave us a great challenge: To sponge or make a rectangle out of dp and stamp over the edge. (Bonus- use winter stamp to make spring) I did the dp rectangle. I used dp that had a dress makers form. It isn't centered but pretty close. I stamped a little flower 3 times in the corner half in box half out. For my bonus, I masked the flowers and used a Christmas stamp (poinsettia, holly and pinecones) and stamped over the flowers. I colored the flowers and "leaves" with colored pencils. The flower on the left tore while I was coloring it. So I stamped it again on an encyclopedia page and paper pieced it over just that one flower. (can you even tell?) I used Aleene's tacky glue and put a thick layer of the glue over the top of the flowers. It took a long time to dry but gave a great finish. I added store bought pearls in the centers of the 3 flowers on front of card. When it came to stamping the flowers on the inside of the card, I ran out of pearls, I put hot glue in the centers of the flowers on the inside and painted them with fingernail polish and rubbed them with gold metallic rub to kinda distress them. Can you tell they are different from the front? You would have to look really closely to see the differences. I love using chessecloth but I didn't want it white for this card because I wanted a more distressed look. So I took my cheesecloth and put it in a ziplock bag with a few drops of distress ink from a reinker. The ribbon on my card was a piece of ribbon that was wider than I wanted. I cut it in half. I knew it would ravel, but I didn't care because it adds to my shabby chic look. I added glitter and metallic rub to the dress maker form. The butterfly was colored and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. I know this was a long post. I hope you enjoyed reading about this card.
