and felt guilty because it was entirely too simple... even for my acutely CAS thinking. So I did another, and took a little more time with the coloring. I'd spent the morning with some third graders who colored so intensely and beautifully-- I had to try their style. At least, I didn't break as many leads.
This is a Laurel Burch design. Of course, that means clever colors. Who ever heard of a purple and red lion?

Wow Brenda, if spending the morning with 3rd graders brings results as great as this, I need to go find some little kids for inspiration. What wonderful colors you used. Right into my favs.

Sheesh, Brenda, you shouldn't even had any guilt to assuage!! But on the other hand, I love this jungle scene and your fun colours... It reminds me of a book illustration. I also like the way they make me feel it's a night scene; though perhaps that's not the intention, it certainly suggests it, without all the problems which beset me of deciding the best way to colour a sky round a detailed image.
