When I first read Dina's MIX165 Winging It challenge, my first thought was a CAS mixed media card with a lovely fairy stamp.
Ha!! This created so much mess that I can barely see my desk any more - but Christmas cards are more useful to me just now as I seem to have enough birthday cards for a couple of months.
Stamped the unbranded angel stamp on white card and a page from a Russian novel (for piecing the wings, to work with Lisa's WT challenge).
She's coloured with pencils, and a little Stickles added. When that was dry, I used MicroGlaze to protect the dress and keep it white while I sponged my background. First I used mesh tape and silver paint - when dry, I sponged with antique linen, tea dye and vintage photo. At the very end I went in with some scattered straw for areas that needed a little more. I decided to emboss the panel to add texture - after stamping with Gorgeous Grunge in the foreground. I also added some stencilled stars with the metallic rub-ons - but before I got round to using fixative, I managed to rub them into the embossing, so I added a little more ;-).
Base was kraft card embossed with a swirl in silver, and then swiped over with Vintage Photo distress stain. The plain silver was nice already, but since I made two cards I could afford to try staining one, and I liked it better.

Sabrina, this is such a beautiful card made with awesome colors. I had to look up the Judikins MicroGlaze. I was not familiar with it but sure sounds like a useful product. Where is my list?

Oh Sabrina, this is just lovely. It looks like an old book discovered in a forgotten little church. It has such a warm, spiritual glow. The different shades of brown that you sponged on made a gorgeous bg. Faved.

Wow, this has texture galore, and I am loving every bit of it!! Trying to remember how cool your cards look, adding the wings from print DP, and the silver embossing, but the icing on the cake was when you dry embossed the entire card front - your Christmas stash is really growing!! I agree with Francie about the warm spiritual glow -

WOW...your angel with the printed wings is lovely and the bg..well can I say it reminds me of some of those old churchs where you see the ancient frescos..your texture and colors are so well done. You have such a great eye for detail on these MM pieces (really all your creations). Love this!
