Made this for a lady who works at the Starbucks near my apartment. Hadn't been there in 6-9 months, but went through the drive-thru after the gym yesterday - no make-up, bed head, sweaty.... When I drove up to the window, she greeted me like I was a personal friend she hadn't seen for a long while and was thrilled to see again. Really made me feel special! So, of course, I thought it appropriate to make a "Happy Mail" card for her to thank her for making me feel missed and welcomed back.
Cut stitched panel with MFT stitched square die. Used my Misti to get things positioned - that baby was MADE for cards like this with lots of parts! While it looks black in the picture, the "coffee" in the cup is done with Early Espresso. The original sentiment stamp had a lot of swirl on the "k" that made it not work well in the space I had. Decided I would actually use it a lot more if it didn't have that, I used my small SU scissors and cut it off.
Colored my cup with Copics:
R35, R37, R39, R59 (shadows: C0, C1, C3, C4, C5)
Was happy with my coloring, but I felt my cup needed some decoration. Cut apart a Penny Black heart flourish die cut that was nearby and glued in place with Glossy Accents. LOVE how it turned out!
Finished my card with a charcoal gray panel cut from Bazzill textured cardstock and mounted to my card base. I was itching to add some glitter somewhere, but stopped while I was ahead, letting the shiny textured hearts be my "bling."
Thanks for looking!

This is AWESOME!! LOVE how you've added so much to that cup to really make it special. The girl at Starbuck's is going to be thrilled to get this. I bet it makes her day, just as much as her welcoming comments made your day. xx

Fantastic! I just LOVE the cup! You made it look so dimensional with the die cuts on there in metal! I puzzled over it for a while before I read your description. What a fantastic effect and brilliant idea!
