My focal image is a yellow cheese !
I made a birthday card for a little boy who is fond of cheese...
From time to time I'd like you to discover some techniques used in our little country in Europe ...
This time I choose 2 techniques from Nellie Snellen.
The square border is made with the "Queree" technique.
Queree is a punched, stitch and embroider technique.
You start by punching shapes (in this case small squares) in a certain pattern (so you see the yellow background). Through little pierced holes a certain stitching pattern is applied after that.
I weaved also beads on my thread for some of the punched squares.
The sentiment says "Party" and is done with the Reflecta technique : the letters are stitched through little piercings in the card.
The image is from an old decoupage sheet cut by hand into several layers and made 3D.
Just a few punched butterflies for further embellishment.

Not only is the card so cute, I love the techniques you used. My eye was drawn to the border immediately upon opening the card and the sentiment is just as interesting. Great card!
