I'm hosting the Mix-Ability challenge this week with a startling fact. I scanned through the forum of 159 challenges and noticed that we haven't focused on faces! With all the wonderful stamps out there for mixed media looking at us we should have a challenge with them! Join me for MIX160: Let's Face It!
My card is using Beautiful Braid from Stampendous and a Peacock Stenciled background also by Stampendous.
I chose to do the no-line coloring method with watercolors and once I finished Beautiful Braid I masked it with rubber cement and stenciled the background with a wet sponge and color from my watercolor markers. I carefully rubbed the cement off and finished with some hair and facial details with colored pencils. The sentiment was stamped using my MISTI, because after all that work I didn't want to mess it up at the end.
Thank you for stopping by and I hope you try out the challenge with us this week!

Love this on so many levels...your no line water colouring is terrific...the texture in the hair is fantastic (created with pencils, I assume). The pretty colors in that awesome background stencil is the icing on the cake!

Wow, this is so beautifully done. I like the no line stamping. A great challenge, I wish I could play today, but I have to deliver sick ones to the doctor today.

Beautiful card for a sister, Janelle. Your coloring is so softly and beautifully done. I think it is always a striking look when a young woman goes prematurely gray because they still have that flawless skin. Your image depicts that.
