This week, I was invited by Shirley (wannabcre8tive) to join her for the F4A313 and to make a masculine card with a heart on it. Looking at this set, it was a no-brainer, just had to come up with a design using the stamp set and EF appropriate for a male card. Here is the challenge thread - Feb 19 F4A313 - Masculine Hearts by wannabcre8tive at Splitcoaststampers
My base is Vanilla, with a layer of Lost Lagoon, then a vanilla layer embossed after brayering INSIDE the front to give me a defined outline of the world, which I also sponged around the outside - I know there is a name for using your EF in this way - just escapes me at the moment. From there, I simply stamped the heart and the compass, punched them out, and cut some simple banners, using my buddy Nancy's favorite item - corrugated cardboard - in the strip across the bottom and again as a banner at the top with the other banners. Added a glittered Black brad and that's all she wrote! DONE!!
Hope you will come to see all the cards made for this challenge and add one of your own making - we would love to see what you do!!!
Thanks for looking and have a great weekend!!

Sue, what a super card! I always find masculine cards for anniversaries so hard, I know DH would love something like this. The embossed panel looks just fab. And I love the narrow banners layered on the wider one and making an arrow pointing to the heart.
Love that stamp set and EF, but especially love how you used it! You have created a lovely masculine card! Great technique with that EF! All your little details, including the corrugated cardboard piece just make this a fabulous card.

Love that ef!!! Wonderfully done, Sue, and it has so many great details and works perfect for a masculine card. You know the cardboard would be my favorite part (especially since it reminded you of me - how fun is that?), but that heart with that wonderfully sweet sentiment is my fave. That is what we all want to be in life - someone else't great adventure. Many hugz

Terrific masculine card, Sue. Love your color choices and the various textures you have used like embossing and corrugated cardboard. Wonderful choices of DP too......all put together in the most pleasing way.
