For this week's patriotic wtui challenge. When I think of our presidential election "politics," I feel sad. It's so contentious. Civility is out! I thought of the glass effects die, like the view is shattered. However, as I swapped out and re-assembled all the cut papers, something awesome happened. All the different colors and patterns turned into a fun crazy quilt, and started to look like what our country is: a variety of folks with divergent ideas and values. Things will eventually come together...
Using the inlaid die cuts trick, I ended up with six panels. I only finished one of them with a new-to-me memory box die cut. The sentiment strip looked dull, so I embossed it over some sandpaper to give it some texture. Hard to see in the photo.
Dear Susan (One4Joy) challenged me to use our authentique papers. I chopped up four of the beautiful pages for these panels...

Brenda, these are all beautiful. Love what they symbolize. Hopefully are fractured country can be fixed. Both you and Susan used the paper in a very powerful way. Your words are very soothing.

Oh my gosh, Brenda!! You are so on target with your creation reflecting the state of the presidential race! It's so sad! But your card is perfect in every one! Love it!

Such truth spoken with love, my dear friend. And fractured has been fused, what was broken has become healed. How awesome you used the stained glass effect. Your panels are beautiful.
The fact we each used 4 of the pages has a fun synchronicity. I especially like the red, white, and blue stripe...flags waving. Thank you for cutting into those authenique papers with me. Let's play again down the road when inspiration strikes!
