A birthday card for my FIL. He also retired from the USPS and lives in rural Kansas, so I thought this scene would appeal to him.
I die cut all the pieces I would need and loosely arranged them before stamping the "birthday wishes", using my MISTI to get a good impression on the textured bg. The mailbox and "Sending" are cut from glossy black cs, The mailbox post is wood veneer, and the bird is craft foam. I backed the glossy cs with Stick it! adhesive before cutting it. The letters were stamped and colored prior to fussy cutting. Since the mailbox die cuts the slot, it was easy to arrange them and glue them in position. The mailbox is popped up on thin foam dots for dimension. I created the dirt road by tearing a scrap of craft cs and adding brown pastel to give the impression of tire tracks.
As always, thanks for looking!

What an adorable way to "send" good wishes for someone's birthday - a mailbox die cut is perfect and I love the colored envelopes and felt bird, and ESPECIALLY the SUN! Looks great on the textured CS too!

Oh, Jody, this is an adorable scene, and your FIL is going to love it with the mailbox and all the great elements. I love that the mailbox is wood veneer and really does have such amazing dimension! I'd love to see the smile on his face when he gets this one! Beautifully done, as always, sweet friend! Hugs!

Oh, a mailbox full of cards from crafters like us....how cute! I love how you made your dirt road so realistic. Dust will be flying if it's a really dry day. Adorable creation!
