Each year I make a birthday card for my best friend's DH that uses an image of his tattoo. It started as a silly thing , but he got such a kick out of the first one that it's become a tradition.
This year, I featured his tattoo as the flames in the birthday candles. I opened the birthday cake image in Photoshop, erased the background, resized the tattoo image and gave it a glowing drop shadow. Twelve times! Some of the images are flipped, and rotated to match the direction of the candle flames they're covering up.
The background was created using a gradient fill layer and setting it as radial. The image was printed, die cut, and layered onto a navy mat before I adhered it to the shaped card base. This was fun to do, but I sure am glad there weren't more candles on the cake!
As always, thanks for looking!

Brilliant in design and in your use of Photoshop! Love the idea of using that tattoo every year on his card! This is the epitome of personalization! So perfect for him!

Well, I don't quite understand the Photoshop lingo, but to resize the tattoo that many times and add the candle glow to TWELVE CANDLES, certainly deserves admiration from us non-Photoshop peeps! BRAVO!!
