When it's just been "one of those days" you just need something Bold and Bright to shake the cobwebs out of those little brain cells and get the bones a-boogyin'. At times like this I usually follow my well worn rut to Joann, Michaels or Hobby Lobby. Hobby Lobby came through this time. When I saw this Paper Studio paper with all the gold accents my eyes lit up (I do like gold!). The colors are electric and the patterns are exciting! I wanted to use every single color to make a card, but finally limited myself to this vibrant orange. Then I had to decide which pattern. Decisions, decisions. Thought to myself...two is good. Picked the chevron and the tiny triangles. Liked them together, so I cut 2 strips to use on either side of the center. Thought to myself...that looks Cool. Now what??? Mulled it over for several days after trying several ideas. Why is it that so many of the fantastically spectacular ideas that incubate in your mind fall into a little puddle of Yuck when they land on the paper?! I like the concept of what I finally ended up with, but I'm not really satisfied with the large flower. It seems like it's a little too much. I might try this again...with a different color and probably something other than the flower. I do like the bamboo though. I personally think you could put the Memory Box bamboos on anything, even a Van Gogh, and it would bring it up to another level. Love those dies! Thanks for looking.

I think this is fantastically spectacular and the flower is perfect!!!! I don't know that Vinnie would agree about the bamboo, but I'm with you Miss Ellen, I think it looks perfect on anything too. I love how you used the chevron and .......standby I have to scroll back and see what the other pattern is, I just know I loved the combination ....... tiny triangles. Gorgeous work my friend. xx

What a gorgeous card!! I love your description of the process you went through in making it. I can assure you that you aren't the only member of the "What now" club! I love the bamboo and the flower is perfect!

I think this is gorgeous. With cards like your's I can clearly understand why it takes a somewhat long time from beginning to end. Every one is so thoroughly thought out. It shows, too. Needless to what you said above, you have a grand scale vision and presentation, silly woman. Go to see you in the gallery today.
