The shores of Cape Cod are dotted with Crab and Lobster shacks where fishermen store their gear. Many are made of barn board, which turns pretty, rustic colors from the sea salt, and moss on the north side. They often have them decorated outside with all sorts of nautical objects. I created a barn board background using the tutorial Karen (k dunbrook) generously shared here: http://snippets-karen.blogspot.ca/20...-tutorial.html. It's super easy and fun and you can use a variety of colors. I once bought a whole paper pad just to get 2 barn board pieces - now I can do any color combo I want.
My fault line is black and the round portion houses my crab.
Thanks, Karen for sharing your wonderful tutorial!

Wow! This is awesome, Priscilla. Your barn board looks super and I like all the items you've covered it with. It's such a wonderful nautical card.

Great card; thx for the tidbit about how the fishing (lobstering?) gear is stored. I grew up on the FL coast, and we didn't have things like that - just high-rise condos!

I like your 'crab shack' card -- this is really interesting and I love all the details you used.

Priscilla, you really did capture the feeling of those lobster and crab shacks that dot the New England coastline. Your bg "wood" is FANTASTIC! Love the individual nautical elements you used.

Your card really captures those New England fishing shacks perfectly. I love this, Priscilla. And I am so with you about buying the paper pads for just the weathered wood papers. Thank you for linking up Karen's blog...I am going to have to give it a try.

This is a beautiful card Priscilla!! It reminds me of home with our Blue Crabs and the Chesapeake Bay. All the elements you used fit together perfectly.

You've given me inspiration to shy away from the traditional wood colors. Wow, this is such a neat card with so much to look at and appreciate. It's a perfect representation of what those shacks look like.
